Installation Guide
Fastners: Use only Polygal screws with 25mm metal bond
washer. Pre drill holes to 10mm to allow for expansion and contraction. Sheets
should be fastened every 305mm. Do not screw closer than 40mm to edge of sheet.
Fixing: Fix sheet with UV protection facing the sun.
The UV protected side of Polygal sheets are indicated on the blue masking and
must be glazed to the outside. The green masking indicates the underside of the
sheet.
Roof Fall: Polygal is not recommended for roofs with
slope or pitch less than 5º (87mm/1000). eg. 1x3m sheet = 261mm fall. Ribs should
run vertically to allow condensation to drain and prevent algae growth within
the ribs.
Overhang: To avoid sheet damage in high wind areas
the maximum overhang at the roof edge or gutter line should no exceed 50mm. It
may be necessary to screw through sheeting along purlins or battens.
Cutting: Polygal sheets can easily be cut using a
sharp knife, handsaw, jigsaw or circular saw with a fine tooth blade. When using
a saw swarf will enter fluting. This can easily be removed with a vacuum cleaner
or air hose.
